New Product Update

The new 1.0.8 (7) update provides a number of new features and improved performance for both the iPhone and the Apple Watch. This update includes the following improvements:

  1. Streamlined new user onboarding by removing the email confirmation step
  2. Made significant improvements to reduce battery drain on the iPhone
  3. Added the “Start Analysis” screen to the iPhone app, which captures and displays key metrics at the start of the race.
  4. “Course” screen – added GPS heading and increased sampling rate when using GPS phone data
  5. Added a “Start screen” to the Apple Watch app
  6. Modified the Elapsed Time timer to start at gun
  7. Added “Enable Debugging” option to Settings to assist Pathfinder Support in troubleshooting issues
  8. Enhanced selection of ‘Active Boat’ to eliminate complexity and make it easier to switch to different boat profiles
  9. Addressed various small issues and enhancements

Start Analysis Screen

The new  Start Analysis screen reports your distance to the line and speed at the start of the race. The screen appears immediately after the timer reaches ‘0’, so you can learn how well you are starting and whether you were over the starting line early.

The screen also includes an immediate over-early notification.

Apple Watch Start Screen

The Pathfinder Sailing Apple Watch app now includes a Start screen to help you hit the starting line on time and at maximum speed. The screen provides your Time to Start, Distance Below Line, Speed to Start, and Line Square To information. The Watch app is included in both Basic and Plus Plan subscriptions.
